CHATEAU BRUYANT VOL.1 VARIOUS ARTISTS We re one year old ! Or so… Our first official release was one year ago, soon followed by a dirty dozen of fine bass Eps we have been very proud to promote, with artists such as Tambour Battant, Zimo, The Unik, Niveau Zero, Habstrakt, Broad Rush, Brown and Gammon, Addergebroed, MC2, Baxter Beez, Flore… From Dubstep to Tropical House to Glitch Hop, we’re glad to represent a wide range of subgenres, sharing a unique love for Bass ! So, we thought the timing was perfect to drop this first compilation. Mixing brand new unreleased material with previousy released stuff that we thought deserved a new focus, Château Bruyant Vol.1 is a first statement on what our label has to offer. It’s also for us a unique occasion to welcome new artists on CBR. We’ve been following some of them for a while, and they all deserve much attention, so expect some more release from them (and others) on Château Bruyant in the months to come.

MC2 ‘Beat Em Up’ [CBR010] by Château bruyant records

1/ MC2 – Beat Em Up (Original Mix)
2/ MC2 – Feel Roll In’s (Original Mix)
3/ MC2 – Computer Slave (Original Mix)

Marseille’s glitch hop duet MC2 comes up this january with a wonder of an EP. Adding some dubstep in their glitch, Miosine and Ckel yet stick to their very own style : somewhere between yesterday’s electro funk, today’s bassmusic and tomorrow stuff. Beat Em up has all it takes to make a great track : classic synthlines, surprise at every drop, this EP is as eficient as beautiful. Title track is an epic dubstep banger, based on a great melody supported by fat distorted basslines and surrounded by glitchy sounds and arps. Delightful. Feel Roll In is a drumstep glitch hop tribute to whom you know. As weird as it might seem, it does exactly what it says on the tin, while rockin any Phil Collins hater at his own surprise. Asfor Computer Slave it s another glitch hop banger : bad bass, beautiful pads, nervous cuts, and another mad melody on second drop. It’s all about power and surprise. Also watch the freebie that comes with the EP as this huge mash up of Infectious Groove classic Violent and Funky will please all 90s lovers.

SUCK MY JOYSTICK #1

De belles images valant mieux qu’on long discours, jetez plutôt un œil : SUCK MY JOYSTICK, épisode 1(à suivre).

SUCK MY JOYSTICK #1

Don’t get us wrong, it’s all about music, or better say ; playing music with joysticks (you know, those hardcore gamerz vibrating totems).
Obsessed with the need for new instruments, french glitch hop act MC2 engineered their own patch, letting them use joysticks as midi instruments, in a rather rock n’roll way. But let’s cut the crap and just watch this : SUCK MY JOYSTICK, episode 1(more will follow)

ENGLISH
Hailing from Marseille, France, MC2 is an up and coming glitch hop duet. Playing live with joysticks and pads, they could easily be seen as a proper rock band. Their music is a blend of glitch hop, dubstep, idm and discrete yet strong mediterranean influences.
Miosine and Ckel started making music together in 2008 and quickly released remixes for the likes of Missil, Tambour Battant or Nasser on labels such as Boxon, Leonizer or Discograph.
In 2011 they released their first EP on Marseilles imprint I.O.T : Mc Slicing.
MC2 soon join the Château Bruyant Team alongside Tambour Battant, Niveau Zero, The Unik and Habstrakt, and are ready to launch some new glitch bombs, and perform furious live sets.
